Staymobile was proud to be a Platinum Plus Sponsor at this year's SC EdTech Conference. The annual conference brings together leaders in the education and technology space to offer content and activities spanning all areas of educational technology with diverse workshops, presentations, speakers, exhibitors, and recognition events. The conference is managed by the South Carolina Association for Educational Technology (SCAET), a non-profit organization.
The three-day conference was a chance for several members of the Staymobile team, to really dive into the rapid technology progression in the education space. Rapid is an excellent word for the development of the edtech space. We frequently work with schools that were early adopters in implementing technology in the classroom as well as schools that are just now breaking ground on justifying the use of technology for students and teachers alike. Protecting and extending the lifespan of those devices has been a consistent goal for the Staymobile team.
A recent study of 1,000 teachers across the U.S. found that nearly 80% of teachers said their use of technology in the classroom will be higher this year than last, with the shift being driven by greater access to devices. Teachers also said that the increased use in technology gave them the benefit of being able to better understand their students as individual learners.
The adoption of technology in the classroom has been a continual topic of discussion throughout the years. It was great to be a part of the conversations at SC EdTech this year - where technology in the classroom has finally transitioned from the "what ifs" and the "initial findings," to almost mass acceptance and a real drive to make sure students not only have access to technology but that the use of EdTech is continually being improved upon.
